In the 1995 hit movie, Clueless, Alicia Silverstone plays a superficial, rich girl that somehow seems to grow up in the midst of peer pressure, lipstick and endless trips to the mall. The perfect setting is Beverly Hills, the quintessential monument of wealth and excess.
And even though the mansion used for filming Clueless is an actual house, not a set, it is located in Encino California, not Beverly Hills!
Unfortunately, there aren’t many pictures of this beautiful home outside of the movie. However, we know some of the actual filming took place here. The gates and long gated driveway leading up to the house appear in the movie, as does the kitchen and backyard pool.
The beautiful staircase in the entry way is where Cher and Josh kiss for the first time.
What started out as just another teen film morphed into a modern-day classic. The film was critically acclaimed and it grossed over $56 million while in theaters. Other locations appearing in the movie are Beverly Hills High School, Occidental College in LA and Westfield Fashion Square, Sherman Oaks, CA.
