The four-lot vacation compound belonging to billionaire music mogul David Geffen.
The property is among the most expensive on Carbon Beach, also known as the Billionaire Beach. The home faces the Pacific Coast Highway where it is shaded and partially concealed by trees. But the back of the mansion sits right on the beach, fully exposed to the ocean and is only separated by a glass wall. The compound is truly impressive and includes is a nine-car garage, two swimming pools and large deck area.
David Geffen’s Compound on Carbon Beach in Malibu:
When Geffen purchased the properties in 1982, he agreed to grant public beach access from his property. It was the entrepreneur’s strategic move to get approval for his new home site plan. Twenty years later in 2002, the music mogul went to court asking permission to have the gates permanently sealed, blocking access to the public path. Despite his star power, he lost the case so in the daytime, anyone is permitted to walk past the west wall of his home to access the public areas of the Carbon Beach.
