Born on July 17, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland, David Hasselhoff is an actor, singer, producer and businessman. He got bit with the acting bug at the young age of seven, when he played the title role of Peter Pan for his school’s play. Dreaming of Broadway even then, David Hasselhoff made his debut on the Great White Way in 2000, with a role in the production of Jekyll & Hyde. However, he was famous before then!

David Hasselhoff’s first role came in 1975, playing Dr. Snapper Foster on The Young and The Restless, a role he played until 1982. Then, later that same year, he starred in his breakthrough role of Michael Knight in the hit show, Knight Rider. The show ran from 1982 to 1986 and is still in syndication around the world. Hasselhoff the started a singing career, releasing his first album, Looking For Freedom, in the late 1980’s. While somewhat popular in the United States, the album went triple platinum in Europe. In fact, David Hasselhoff’s popularity has always been higher in Europe than in the US, leading to the saying, “German’s love David Hasselhoff!”

In 1989, David Hasselhoff starred in the role that would define him over the years. Hasselhoff starred as Mitch Buchanan, a Los Angeles Life Guard. While the show was canceled after one season, Hasselhoff used personal resources to keep it on the air. It went on to show for 11 seasons and was shown in 140 different countries. Since then, David Hasselhoff has made guest appearances and judged talent shows. He was on Dancing With The Stars, and Britain’s Got Talent. In 2o07, he had the role of the Nazi writer/director of “Springtime for Hitler,” in Mel Brooke’s reprisal of The Producers in Las Vegas, NV.

David Hasselhoff holds a Guinness World Record for the Most Watched Man on television, A People’s Choice Award for the Most Popular Actor for his role in Knight Rider, and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1996. He is single with two daughters and vacations in Barbados.
