DeMarcus Owen Ware was born on July 31, 1982, in Auburn, AL. After accepting a scholarship to Troy University in Troy, AL, Ware was the 11th pick in the NFL draft in 2005 . He was picked by the Dallas Cowboys and an outside linebacker and a defensive end.

In high school, Demarcus Ware was quite the athlete, playing not only football, but basket ball and base ball, in addition to running track. At Troy University, Ware was selected for the All-Sunbelt Conference twice, and the 2003 Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year.

Picked up by the Dallas Cowboys, DeMarcus Ware was selected for the Pro Bowl every year from 2006 to 2012. He was traded to the Denver Bronco in 2014, after suffering from a series of injuries. DeMarcus Ware showed the NFL that he wasn’t done yet. He went back to the Pro Bowl in 2014 and in 2015. After announcing his retirement from football in March of 2017, he signed a one-day contract with the Dallas Cowboys on April 24, 2017, to allow him to retire as a Cowboy.
