Lee Simmons was born Kimora Lee Leissner in St. Louis, MO on May 4, 1975. She is an American fashion designer and model.
By the time she was 14 years old, Lee Simmons was under contract to model exclusively for Chanel. She rose quickly in the modeling world, specializing in haute couture fashion shows. After her contract with Chanel ended, Simmons went on to model for other designers such as, Valentino and Yves Saint Laurent.
In 1992, she met Russell Simmons at fashion week and married him in 1999. The marriage lasted 11 years, and Lee Simmons kept his last name.
When she isn’t gracing the cover of some magazine, Lee Simmons manages to run her company, JustFab, where she is the creative designer and the president. She has appeared in several TV Shows and music videos, writing a self-help book, Fabulosity: What It Is and How To Get It, and star in her own reality TV show, Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane, on the Style network. It was canceled after one season.
