O. J. Simpson, also known by his nickname The Juice, is a former NFL star and actor. The former athlete is well known for the trial in which he was famously acquitted of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown-Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. At the time when Simpson was on trial in 1995, his net worth was estimated at $11 million. However in 1997, the families of the victims filed a civil suit against the former football legend in which they were awarded a $33.5 million judgment against Simpson for the victims’ wrongful deaths.
In 2008, Simpson was charged and convicted of felonies of armed robbery and kidnapping and sentenced to 33 years in prison with a minimum of nine years without parole.
