Comedian and America’s favorite television host, Howie Mandel is known for creating and hosting such acclaimed game shows as “Deal or No Deal” and “America’s Got Talent”. But the real estate tea on Howie is that he finally scored a deal on his custom-built home in Malibu and it is now SOLD! Matt Rapf of Pritchett-Rapf Associates took care of the deal!
Apparently Howie learned a lot about making deals on the game show because he held out for over 2 years on selling the gorgeous, Cape-cod inspired Malibu home. Howie purchased the property in 2006 for 3 million dollars; however he demolished the original structure and created his very own custom Howie House. Mandel’s house appeared on the Multiple Listing Service towards the end of 2011 and initially he wanted 7.25 million for the exclusive home. Understanding the real estate market and predicting the upswing in the economy, Howie Mandel decided to take the listing down, after the property had not sold for almost 18 months. After waiting patiently, he relisted the mansion in January of this year and raised the price to $7.75 million. Clearly Howie’s got talent!
The property sits on just over an acre of land with two structures – the main house and a guest-house with a gorgeous view of the Santa Monica Bay.
This stately Point Dumme area home located at 6950 Dume Dr, Malibu, CA 90265, has a warm curb appeal, with a traditional red door and brick siding trim on the exterior. It was designed by architect Douglas Burdge to look like a Nantucket-style estate with a very open floor-plan.
The home’s structures combined have six bedrooms and seven bathrooms. The main house has ALL of the customization that any celeb could ask for: custom molding, hand scraped wood floors!…and the view is positively breathtaking. There is also a pool and a very expansive lawn area. The house is almost 6,000 square feet in total and includes a gym, Mandel’s personal library and a den.
