Don Johnson is an American actor, singer, director, and producer. He’s even been known to write a song or two.

Born on December 15, 1949, in Flat Creek, Missouri, Don Johnson decided to try acting as a career after taking a drama class in high school. He went on to study drama at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, CA. Best known for TV roles in the 1980s and 1990s, Don Johnson had steady work in supporting roles, on film, TV and in the theater. His breakout role came in 1984, starring as James “Sonny” Crockett in the hit TV show Miami Vice. A new kind of cop show, Miami Vice set the tone for the decade, with amazing camera work and its edgy story lines.

While Don Johnson was on Miami Vice, he released two albums, one in 1986, and another in 1989. The title single from he debut album, Heartbreak, went to #5 on Billboard’s Hot 100. After Miami Vice, a role which won him a Golden Globe, Johnson went on to star in a variety of TV movies, films and theater productions. Then in 1996, Don Johnson came back to the small screen in Nash Bridges, which ran until 2001.

In 1986, Johnson won the World Powerboat Championship, held each year on the Mississippi River, the first actor every to win a sports championship. In 1996, he was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Don Johnson owns Don Johnson Production and was the executive producer on Nash Bridges. He has also endorsed a variety of products and can be book for speaking engagements. Don Johnson is married and has five children. His net worth is estimated at $30 million.
