So it makes sense that those celebs looking to stand out from the crowd often go to extremes. From Ferraris to Maybachs to Veyrons, check out some of the hottest (read: expensive) cars in Hollywood — and the celebs that drive them.
1. Jay Z
Rapper Jay Z drives the most expensive car in all of Hollywood, which shouldn’t come as a surprise considering that he is regularly ranked among the world’s wealthiest people. His Maybach Exelero is worth a staggering $8 million. Reminiscent of Batman’s trustworthy Batmobile, the rapper can frequently be seen driving this ultra-fast, ultra-luxurious ride in his own music videos. The car can reach speeds of more than 218 mph, despite the fact that its weight is more than 2.66 tons. And within 4.44 seconds, the car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph. While the Maybach Exelero was originally manufactured as a one-off back in 2005 for Fulda Tires, it is now available to the general public. So if you have an extra $8 million to spare, you too can purchase a Maybach Exelero.
2. Birdman
Born Bryan Williams, Birdman is the proud owner of one of two Bugatti Veyrons on our list. His model is far pricier than Simon Cowell’s however, worth an astounding $2 million. In addition to being one of the most expensive automobiles in the world, it is also the fastest on the planet (well, in terms of legal street cars anyway). The only thing this rapper loves more than driving the car is taking as many pictures of himself as possible while driving it.
3. Simon Cowell
This snarky former “American Idol” judge owns a sleek Bugatti Veyron worth $1.7 million. Made for speed, Cowell’s lavish ride can reach 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds. From there, it can be revved up to about 267 mph, making it one of the fastest cars in the world. We hear Cowell is in a better mood while out cruising in his Veyron than he was while judging “American Idol.”
4. Jerry Seinfeld
An avid car collector and an extreme automobile enthusiast, this icon of comedy owns one of the largest and most impressive Porsche collections in the entire world. But of his 46 cars, the Porsche 959 sits a notch above the rest. This model, one of a mere 337 that were ever manufactured, cost him $700,000, which makes it the most expensive car in his collection. However, you won’t see him cruising around in the 959 in the U.S. — it hasn’t passed the required U.S. emissions test yet.
5. Nicolas Cage
Before Cage’s financial crash, he owned a Ferrari Enzo, which was worth $670,000. It went up to 217 mph and could transition from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. The model that he owned even sported an F140 Aluminum V12 engine, one of only 399 ever manufactured. Unfortunately, he had to eventually sell the car because of his cash flow problems. Lesson learned: Even celebrities shouldn’t buy things that they can’t afford.
6. Jay Leno
The King of Late Night Talk has always been an avid car collector. His 17,000-square-foot garage boats a stunning number of cars, all of different makes, models, and years, including a 1906 Stanley Steamer as well as a 1970 Dodge Challenger. His most expensive car, however, is the Mercedes SLR McLaren, which has a retail price of about half a million dollars. It’s not only the most expensive car in his collection, it is also reported to be his favorite.
7. David Beckham
Beckham’s custom Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead cost him about $407,000 when he first purchased it. However, considering all of the customizations this soccer superstar had installed in the car (like a set of custom-built Savini Forged wheels), we’re guessing it is now worth even more.
8. P. Diddy
P. Diddy doesn’t technically own this $360,000 Maybach, but he did throw down the cash for it. The lucky recipient? His son, Justin, who received it as a 16th birthday gift. An added bonus? He also got a driver to chauffeur him around, because while he might have gotten a car for his birthday, he didn’t quite have a license.
9. Paris Hilton
This Hilton Hotels heiress’s Bentley GT Continental isn’t just any old Bentley. Hilton’s ride is totally decked out in pink and even boasts a diamond-encrusted dashboard worth $285,000. The reason for the pink overload? Hilton was an avid Barbie fan as a child and had always dreamed of owning a Barbie Corvette. Dreams really do come true! Well, if you’re an heiress, that is.
10. Kim Kardashian
Kim’s Ferrari F430 is worth a cool $186,925. That translates to a monthly payment of about $3,800, if you were wondering. That’s quite a lot of cash to throw down, especially considering that the Ferrari isn’t even Kim’s main ride. She’s more frequently seen out and about in her Bentley Continental GT.
