“True Blood” star Alexander Skarsgärd wasn’t letting some serious competition stop him from getting this sublime 1,100 square foot, one bedroom and one bathroom co-op in the prime block in New York City’s East Village. He paid $300,000 more than the asking price of $2 million!

The garden apartment once owned by Parker Posey, Chloe Sevigny and Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha is on the top floor of a beautiful 19th century red brick townhouse in St. Mark’s Historic District.

Highlights of the apartment’s combination living/dining space include original, wide plank wood floors, exposed brick walls, and a sky light that will glisten the room in natural light. Built-in bookshelves in the living room area and loft-like space with a classic marble fireplace with a wall of windows overlooking the building complex’s communal gardens. The bedroom is in true New York fashion of small but does have a built-in closet. The bathroom includes a traditional claw-footed bathtub and a closet for a stacked washer/dryer. The unit has an opportunity to have gorgeous city views with the possibility of adding a private roof deck.
