Faith Hill

Actor, Singer

Bio

Faith Hill is one of the most successful country music artists of all time.  After her debut album, Take Me As I Am (1993), she went on to sell more than 40 million albums world wide.

Born on September 21, 1967  in the small town of Ridgeland, Mississippi, just north of Jackson, Faith Hill rose to fame as an American singer, songwriter actress and record producer.  After marrying her first husband, Daniel Hill, in 1988, Hill went to work at a music publishing firm. After a fellow employee heard her singing, the head of the firm asked her to become a demo singer. While singing at Nashville’s famed Bluebird Cafe, a record producer with Warner Brothers signed her to a contract. It was shortly after this, in 1994, that she and Daniel Hill divorced.

As her career took off, and the success of her first album was followed by another major triumph with It Matters To Me in 1995, she became the opening act for Tim McGraw. As fate would have it, they fell in love and married on October 6, 1997. They have 3 children.

In 1997, Faith Hill was named one of People magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People and went on to endorse Cover Girl makeup in 2000. Since then, she has had major success, not only in country music, but with pop, as well. Her 1998 album, Faith, took her country sound and pushed it a little towards the pop genre. Then, in 1999, her single, Breathe, hit the top on the Billboard chart, showing everyone that she has the voice to crossover from country to pop. Faith Hill didn’t forget her roots, however, and in 2005, went back to country music with her album, Fireflies.

Faith Hill has also stepped away from the microphone and stepped in front of the camera on several occasions. She guest starred in three episodes of Touched By An Angel, in 1995. In 2004, she was in the remake of the 1975 film, Stepford Wives, and in 2015, appeared in the critically-acclaimed independent film, Dixieland.

Faith Hill has been recognized for her work with many awards. Among them are, five Grammy Awards, six American Music Awards, and a whopping 15 Academy of Country Music Awards. From 2007 to 2012, she was the voice of the NFL’s Monday Night Football presentation.

Faith Hill and her husband, Tim McGraw, gave generously to the victims of the Katrina Hurricane, hosing concerts and joining relief groups to get supplies in just days after the storm hit the Gulf Coast.
