Jerry Lewis was an American icon. Born in Newark, New Jersey on March 16, 1926 to vaudeville entertainers, Lewis began performing at the tender age of 5 years old, along side his parents. By the time he was 15, he had his own act, lip-syncing to records and developing his comedic ability by exaggerating his antics. Over the years, he became an actor, film producer and director, a singer/songwriter, and worked extensively for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, hosting a telethon for they from 1966 until 2010.
